Victorian Farmers Federation

The VFF is a federation made up of eight commodity groups representing farmers in the chickenmeat, dairy, eggs, flowers, grains, livestock, pigs and horticulture industries.
Farmers head up each of these groups and, supported by Melbourne and regional based staff, are a united voice for farmers needs and rights. This power of unity enables the VFF to effectively lobby at all levels of government on a wide range of issues to retain equity for agriculture, rural and regional Victoria.

The VFF also provides its members with a broad range of additional benefits and services, including a comprehensive industrial service, computer-based training, industry advice, farm safety workshops and much, much more.

Country Fire Authority

CFA is one of the world’s largest volunteer-based emergency services. There are around 58,000 volunteer members supported by over 400 career fire fighters and officers and more than 700 career support and administrative staff.

Situated in Victoria, there are 2.5 million people and 150,182 square kilometres of land in the CFA area. This area includes more than 980,000 homes, and covers all of rural Victoria, and the provincial cities and towns (except State forests and National Parks).

The area also includes more than a million residents in outer Melbourne suburbs such as Frankston and Dandenong, and key growth suburbs such as Cranbourne, Melton and Werribee.

CFA divide the land covered into nine CFA Areas and 20 Regions. Across these Areas there are over 1200 CFA brigades across the state and they carry out a wide range of duties.
Our brigades respond to a range of different incidents and our broader activities include community education and fire investigation.

The ties between CFA and state government, local government, industry and brigades are essential to the successful operation of CFA. As a community service organisation, CFA brigades are strongly supported by their local communities in responding to meet Victoria's fire safety and emergency management needs.

Greening Australia

Greening Australia welcomes everyone committed to protecting and restoring the health, diversity and productivity of our unique landscapes. If you're ready to get out and get active for the environment, Greening Australia has a world of ways to address critical environment issues. Now more than ever, we need to bring about landscape-scale change through practical community action.

Trust for Nature

Trust for Nature has already protected more than 80,000 hectares of bush across Victoria. Established under the Victorian Conservation Trust Act (1972), Trust for Nature is the only Victorian organisation to protect bushland with land management agreements that last forever.

Birchip Cropping Group

The BCG (Birchip Cropping Group and Wimmera Farming Systems) is a farmer-driven agricultural organisation operating as a not-for-profit incorporated association, conducting applied research and extension on all the major crops grown in the region. The Group’s purpose has been redefined since its inception and aims to investigate the critical success factors that ensure sustainable and profitable crop production systems.

Department of Primary Industries

Almost everything we need in life starts with primary industries. Our food, clothes, energy, even our buildings – they all begin with natural resources. The Department of Primary Industries (DPI) is working to constantly find improvements in the journey from the natural resource to the products we use every day.

DPI was established in December 2002 after bringing together a number of areas from the former Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DNRE). The Department promotes the sustainable development of primary industries for the benefit of all of Victoria. It is one of ten Victorian Government Departments and reports to the Minister for Agriculture and Minister for Energy and Resources.
