The Diploma of Rural Business Management is a nationally recognised, flexible delivery study program for people who want to pursue a career in the agribusiness sector. This flexible delivery program places an emphasis on learning through practical workshops along with a supported distance education program.
The advantage of the flexible delivery approach to this program is that it allows people to work at their own pace and combine study with employment. This makes this course ideal for those already working in agribusiness sector or running their own primary industries enterprise. A range of optional practical workshops are also offered throughout the year to provide additional face-to-face tutoring in a range of subjects.

How do I gain a qualification?
The course has been designed to meet the qualifying requirements of the Diploma of Rural Business Management as part of the Rural Production Training Package (RTE03). Students must successfully complete a set number of competencies as prescribed by the Australian Qualifications Framework.
The course comprises a number of competencies from the nationally accredited Rural Production Training Package (RTE03). Students will be enrolled in the Diploma of Rural Business Management (RTE50403).

The Diploma of Rural Business Management is a flexible study program that combines distance education with a range of optional workshops. Most students choose to undertake their study part-time over 2 years to fit in with employment and other activities, however full time study is an option for those not employed.
Gaining admission to the program
This course is open to people who meet one of the following minimum criteria:
Can I get credit for previous study/experience?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the acknowledgement of skills and knowledge obtained through formal training, work experience and/or life experience. If you believe you are able to demonstrate the required level of competence in a unit you can apply for RPL by contacting the Student Administration Officer.
Credit Transfer (CT) is when the same unit of competency is completed within another program or within the same program but with another institution. No fees apply for CT.
The flexible delivery program can be started at any time during the year.
Students enter the course by direct application to Longerenong College. Direct application forms are available by contacting the Longerenong Student Administration Officer.
Tuition fees for government funded courses are in accordance with the Ministerial Direction on Fees and Charges.
The Student Administration Officer can provide information regarding the course fees.
