Virtual Open Day Success

Longerenong College was again forced to cancel plans to host the traditional on-campus Open Day at the iconic College for the second year due to COVID restrictions. However, the Virtual Open Day opens many opportunities for people who can view what we do and not have to travel.

The LIVE Q&A was a popular segment of the day with many questions being answered by Training Manager Barry Ray and Business Development Officer Donna Winfield. Prospective students were also able to see and hear first-hand about scholarships, course structure, the DATA Farm, and have a look at the campus and farm from the comfort of their loungeroom.

Ms. Winfield said “we have been inundated with applications for next year which is so exciting. The College offers great opportunities for students to get hands-on training along with cutting-edge knowledge in the digital ag sector. It is certainly a well-rounded qualification that suits so many interested in careers in the ag industry, with 100% of our 2020 graduates gaining employment. Our graduates get jobs, this is something we are very proud of!”

An on-campus Info Day in December is being planned, so stay tuned.
