Our staff hold broad industry qualifications and experience in their chosen agricultural discipline, covering all aspects of dryland crop production as well as sheep meat, wool, beef cattle and pig production. Many of our academic staff are graduates of the College who have returned to undertake training roles, demonstrating their passion for the industry as well as the College itself.

From our Head of Campus to the support staff in the Front office, Student Records and the Resource Centre, we’re passionate about helping students achieve a rewarding and fulfilling agricultural career.

Message from Avril Hogan - Head of Campus

Avril Hogan joined Longerenong College as General Manager - Head of Campus in August 2021. Avril brings a wealth of educational and agricultural expertise, an international perspective and deep local knowledge to her role.  Having working in international trade, market research, business development, and strategy across agricultural companies in Canada and Australia, her breadth of knowledge across the agricultural market is significant.

Originally from Saskatchewan, a province of Canada’s wheat belt. Avril has an enthusiastic passion for agriculture and has previously worked in a diverse range of areas within the agriculture industries and the education sector for more than 20 years, including internationally, across Australia and locally.

Having completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan, Avril later completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Deakin University.  As a finalist in the Rural Womens Award in 2014 the Rural Industries Research Development Corporation (RIRDC) sent the finalists to complete the Australian Institute of Company Directors course (AIDC) to support regional leader development.  Avril recognises the contribution RIRDC has made to regional Australian residents through programs like this.

Avril is on the Board of the newly formed Grampians Health, and has sat on the Edenhope District Memorial Hospital Board for five years.

Avril has lived in the Wimmera for over 17 years and is committed to the regional area.
