Miranda Rose’s path into agriculture began in the rural town of Edenhope, where she developed an early connection to the farming industry despite not growing up on a farm. Through casual work on neighboring farms and involvement with the Horsham Agricultural Society, Miranda gained hands-on experience and a deep appreciation for the diversity of farming enterprises. Her pivotal moment came during a work placement with consultant Matthew Sparke, where she discovered her passion for agronomy and the critical role agronomists play in enhancing farm productivity.
In 2020, Miranda was accepted into the Elders Graduate Agronomy Program, which exposed her to various sectors of agriculture, from Broadacre cropping in Ballarat to table grape production in Mildura. While the experience was diverse, she found her passion in Broadacre winter cropping, with a focus on efficient herbicide use and crop nutrition. Miranda’s Diploma of Applied Agronomy, became instrumental in honing her expertise. The course provided her with practical, science-based knowledge, empowering her to effectively manage both fieldwork and farm planning post graduation.
Now the sole agronomist at Elders Deniliquin, Miranda covers an extensive region, offering tailored advice to farmers in Wakool, Berrigan, Barooga, Finley, and beyond. Her dual qualifications in Agribusiness Management and Agronomy have equipped her to deliver comprehensive services that drive positive outcomes for clients. Through Miranda’s qualification and hands-on experience, she has established herself as a trusted advisor within the agricultural community.
