The Longerenong College Facilities Upgrade Project to construct student accommodation, a communal building, parking, and landscaping has begun.

The $6.5 million project is funded by the Victorian Government’s Agricultural College Modernisation Program that will help more Victorians pursue exciting careers in agriculture.
Through the investment, the College will upgrade the facilities it needs to upskill future farmers and agriculture professionals.

Head of Campus Avril Hogan said, “I am thrilled with this new development and the continued support Longerenong receives from the Victorian Government.”

“The Government’s investment is the largest capital growth the College has seen for decades and is very highly valued by the Longerenong community.”

The project includes the expansion of on-campus accommodation to meet the increasing demand from students who want to study agriculture at the college while experiencing the benefits associated with a full residential education experience.

Ms. Hogan said, “In addition to new accommodation, a purpose-built communal building will enable the College to provide conference and training facilities for short industry courses and will be available for use by community groups and organisations who wish to host events in the state-of-the-art facility.”

The Facilities Upgrade Project will ensure that Longerenong College continues to offer a unique educational experience, increase the number of students trained per year and enable the College to expand into corporate training and events.

“Longerenong is committed to providing industry-ready graduates to support the growing Agriculture industry in Australia,” said Ms. Hogan.
