Welcome back!
It has been some time since we’ve been in touch with our broader community, industry partners, alumni and supporters, and it’s good to be reconnecting through our Longerenong College Round‑Up.
This monthly update offers a snapshot of what’s been happening around the College – a bird’s‑eye view of student activity, what’s been happening on the farm, our involvement with industry, events on campus, and the people who make up the Longerenong College community. It aims to capture the everyday moments that shape life at Longy.
If you enjoy reading our monthly Round‑Up, please feel free to share it with others who might be interested. You can also subscribe to receive future updates by visiting our website longy.com.au
Thank you for joining us, we hope you enjoy reading the Round‑Up and we look forward to staying in touch.

Graduation

Earlier this year, we held our graduation ceremony, celebrating the achievements of students from the Class of 2025.
Our guest speaker was Royden Hearn, Longerenong College alumnus (1994) and current South West Victoria Area Manager with Elders. Royden shared his own journey in agriculture and highlighted the many opportunities and career directions available within the industry.
Prize winners were recognised with the support of our valued industry and community partners.
We look forward to seeing where our newest alumni head next and wish them all the best as they move into further study, employment and careers in agriculture.

Check out our front gates!

This year, our historic entrance received a fresh new look, with a return to the heritage blue and white colours and the addition of a new picket fence. Thanks to John Loft and Greg Dunlop for all their hard work bringing the project to life. We love it!
Growing together with Emmetts
Longerenong College students will have new opportunities to put agricultural technology into practice through a strategic partnership with Emmetts.
The collaboration brings together Longerenong College’s agricultural education, commercial farming, precision agriculture and Data Farm expertise with Emmetts’ leadership in agricultural technology and innovation, providing students with access to the latest equipment, digital farming systems and industry practices.
The key focus of the partnership is practical learning, giving students more opportunities to apply their knowledge in a commercial farming environment. To support this, Emmetts will provide a John Deere combine harvester, front, and Coolamon chaser bin for use and demonstration during the College’s annual grain harvest.
John Deere Operations Center™ will also be integrated across Longerenong College’s 1,070-hectare Data Farm, further enhancing the College’s existing connected farming, precision agriculture, and farm data capabilities. The integration will create additional opportunities for students to apply classroom learning in a commercial farming environment and develop skills sought by employers.
Alumni – please get in touch!

We’re keen to reconnect with our alumni. Whether you studied here recently or many years ago, please take a few minutes to complete our online form and update your details so we can keep in touch.
Visitors on Campus

We welcome a wide range of industry groups and community organisations throughout the year. With conference spaces, meeting rooms, accommodation and practical facilities available on site, the College can cater for everything from small meetings to large events.
Recent visitors include Victorian Farmers Federation, University of Melbourne, Real Skills Ag Training, Regional Development Victoria, Wimmera Southern Mallee Development, Partners in Ag, Evoke Ag, Monivae College Hamilton, Defying the Drift, AusChem and John Deere Australia.
Whether you’re planning a meeting, conference, training program, event, or require individual or group accommodation, we’d be happy to help. Get in touch to discuss the options available and how the College can support your next activity.
A New Home for Our History

We’re in the early stages of planning an exciting new project to establish a dedicated Heritage Centre, helping to preserve and celebrate the rich history and culture of Longerenong College.
While it’s still early days, the vision is to create a space that showcases the stories, photographs, artefacts and achievements that have shaped the College over more than 137 years. The centre will provide students, staff, alumni and visitors with an opportunity to connect with the people and traditions that have made Longerenong College what it is today.
As planning progresses, we’ll share further updates. In the meantime, if you have historical items, photographs or memorabilia connected to the College that you would be willing to share, we’d love to hear from you.
“Preserving our heritage honours the generations who came before us and inspires those who will shape Longerenong College’s future.”
